Best style/fabric panty for a man?

I have a rather big panty . I want to start wearing panties (and possibly some other things), but don't know where to start. What style (brief, bikini, hipster, thong, boyshort) would be most comfortable, and what is the softest, most comfy material to wear? I don't care much about looks (I'm not gonna go showing it off to anyone), but just something nice, snug, and comfortable.
