Does my guy friend like me?

I have a close guy friend, we've been friends for about a year and a half (last year he sat near me in History and kept asking for sheets of paper when we had to take notes, that's how I got to know him). I think he might like me as more than a friend but I can't tell. I'm not the only he's friends with, and sometimes I can't tell if what he does is something one of my friends would do or if it means he likes me. He's in two cles with me this year, and after cl we always walk together until we have to go different directions. He tugs on my hair sometimes (although some of my friends do that too...) and sometimes he pokes me, randomly. He likes to play video games and use air rifles with his friends, he's always telling me about cool things he did in the games etc. He smiles a lot at me, but I can't tell if he's just being friendly or not. He always says hi if I p by in the hallway, and if he's going towards the buses after school and he sees me behind him, he always stops and waits for me. He compliments me subtly, like he'll stay stuff like, "How do you have such clear skin?", and he always notices my hair and my earrings. When my teacher says something funny or weird in cl he always looks over at me, for my reaction I guess, or, you know, silently comment, something like that, and makes eye contact. I talk to him and some of my other friends about this guy who likes me and is kind of a jerk. My friend(/guy who likes me??) is always dissing the jerk that likes me, and on Facebook the jerk guy was like, “You never answer my calls,” and my guy friend was like, “I wonder why…” sarcastically. He always wants to be my partner for school projects, and when one of his friends who was aiming for him ally hit me with a snowball, he was like, “Hey, you’re an a**” to his friend (he swears a lot so it’s not unusual) and then brushed some snow off of my shoulder. All of this seems kinda like something a friend might do/say though. What really got me wondering was when we were at Friendly’s with some other friends waiting to get rides home, and he was trying out the claw machine. He was going for a stuffed turtle, and one of our friends (Sarah) asked him if she could have it if he got it. He was like, “Ok, sure I guess,” but then when I said, “Hey, can I have it?” (jokingly, not like, I have to have that stuffed turtle!!) he immediately said “Ok, sorry Sarah!”. When he didn’t win it, he apologized to me for not being able to get it for me! And recently, he announced to me and some friends that he’s officially given up on this (Lily) he mentions sometimes that he’s said in the past he liked. He asked her out 3 times, two years ago and the beginning of last year! But now he’s just given up. ?? Does he like me or am I overyzing? He always denies it quickly whenever someone asks if he does like me. How can I tell?
