How do i prevent my marker from chopping paint?

i have a spyder electra with the acs bolt. it works pretty good, but its not perfect. if i get a hopper thats overkill for this marker, does that mean i should not get any chops? if i get a halo or reloader that does 25bps (i can only do around 20bps), will i prevent chopping altogether?
