Ok so I need some manly help.....?

or a chick. I have a 2000 ford focus. It's a standard. It's been running weird lately chugging a lot. I have a feeling it's the transmission. I saw a puddle under my car not sure what color. However I can't find anywhere were I could put fluid into, or to check it. I am scared to drive it anymore afraid of blowing up the transmission.
