My mom is terrified of German Sheperds?

My mom is terrified of German Sheperds! It all started when she was a kid this german sheperd took a chunk out of her leg.(beleive me she didnt do anything to it the dog just got loose and bit her) The same dog also bit her dog,mom, and sister. I mentioned that when I move out and get out of college etc. I might want a german sheperd because theyre big,cute and look scary(like a guard dog, although I wouldnt use it as a guard dog). My mom was like NO way! I will never come visit you if you get a german sheperd!! I tried to explain to her that any do can be mean and that some dogs are just bred poorly or trained badly. and she said that was bull**** all of the sudden she just got mad!! And another time I told her this girl brought her little german sheperd puppy to school and it was adorable! and she was like "Just wait until it gets older" Ive made my decision that I will probably never get a GSD but I hate that she hates this breed of dog when it was just that dog and she shouldnt hold a grudge against all german sheperds. I really want to convince her that theyre not all bad. What should I tell her (please no rude comments)
